In Sweden in the early nineties, a number of refugee children fell ill and became entirely apathetic. There ensued a heated public debate about the children and their parents were using this as a means to getting residence permits. Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s intelligent grotesque about the manipulation of socially accepted truths and memories also vehemently criticises European asylum policy which deprives people of their dignity.
