The Allmighty Architect of All Worlds
A speculative performance about the powers of secret societies
by Gintersdorfer/Klaßen / Repertoire
Decision-making mechanisms of the international elites are rarely accessible to the general public, who often feel excluded and cheated out of knowledge. This experience is further reinforced in post-colonial contexts. People wonder if the events that devastate them, such as wars, financial crises, and natural disasters, may be shaped by forces which operate in the shadows and are led by very different motives than the ones officially presented by the media. In non-Western societies the belief in forces operating behind the scene is firmly anchored, but also in the enlightened West, tales of secret societies such as the Freemasons, Rosicrucians, Illuminati or Reptiloids reflect, according to the theologian Marco Frenschkowski, “a fear in modern society that maybe the tightly and rationally structured, rule-governed democratic society is merely a mask for other power relations.”
We want to examine this topic with actresses and actors from the ensemble and with Ivorian performers, setting the rituals and codes of secrecy in motion.
